Democrats in the U.S. Congress treated General David Petraeus with utter contempt during his testimony yesterday, reducing the four-star general to a receptacle for their political frustrations. In short, Democrats are so invested in the defeat of the U.S. that they cannot afford politically for us to win. But we are winning, and rather than share in victory, they must do whatever is possible to project the perception of defeat, and that includes, in this case, shooting the messenger. While the United States of America is at war with terrorists, Democrats are at war with the U.S., and at war with reality. With Democrats, it’s their political well-being first, national security second.
