The only problem is, Rush didn’t say it

The U.S. Senate took a vote to condemn Rush Limbaugh last week for calling American troops who oppose the war “phony soldiers.” But Rush didn’t apply that description to troops who oppose the war, but to those who make bogus claims about their military service, so 41 Democrat Senators who apparently never listened to the program voted for a condemnation that was based on a lie. The outrage over the “phony soldiers” remark illustrates that many liberals have this invisible shield over their heads that doesn’t let in anything that’s factual. Despite Limbaugh’s repeated attempts to help the Democrats get it right, and despite the fact that you can get actual transcripts right on his website, they still got it wrong.

Plus, the great Ann Coulter’s latest column on the Democrats’ “phony soldiers” bungle is right on the money.

Flashback: “You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq.” — John Kerry, October 30, 2006.
