No town hall debate for Obama
The Obamessiah has officially said “no” to any town-hall debates with John McCain. It’s understandable. Obama doesn’t do well in that type of format. If you’ve ever heard the gaffe-prone “57 states” Obama speak without a teleprompter, you know that half his responses are filled with “uh…uh…uh.” I realize that even in the standard format, there are no teleprompters, but Senator Obama’s refusal to wade into the open-style format of the town-hall debate illustrates his insecurity. After all, he might be reduced to telling the American people to inflate their tires and get tune-ups.
Meanwhile, the McCain campaign responded “We understand it might be beneath a worldwide celebrity of Barack Obama’s magnitude to appear at town hall meetings alongside John McCain and directly answer questions from the American people, but we hope he’ll reconsider.”
