A rare lucid moment of morality for the left
Michelle Malkin runs the headline “Bristol Palin chooses life. Now leave her alone.” She writes:
The Palin family values the sanctity of life. They talk the talk and walk the walk. It is driving the Left absolutely insane beyond the farthest reaches of unhingedness. Now comes the news that 17-year-old daughter Bristol is pregnant. “News” that wouldn’t be news but for the nutroots P.D.S. conspiracy theories that won’t die.
(By the way, P.D.S. stands for “Palin Derangement Syndrome,” which is similar to B.D.S., “Bush Derangement Syndrome.”)
The fun part of Republican scandals is watching the morality-free left suddenly get religion. Their 2004 VP nominee (not underage daughter of the nominee) just had his adulterous affair exposed, the left yawned, and the media gave it scant coverage. I’ll guarantee you that the Palin pregnant-underage-daughter story will get lots more attention from the press than Edwards, or any other Democrat scandal.
At any rate, the left sets its morality bar so low that a snake couldn’t crawl underneath. They excuse any and all form of misbehavior by their own people. But should a Republican slide, well, then that’s just plain hypocritical! I guess it’s because we Christian conservatives proclaim there is a standard of right and wrong for all people, for all-time. The left really hates that about us, so when we sin, they hold us to a much higher degree of morality than they hold themselves. There’s your hypocrisy.

Excellent post . . . we had a similar situation in our family as the Palins . . . our “children” also chose life and marriage and now have blessed us with three wonderful grandchildren. Good things happen when sin is confessed, good decisions are made for the future, and God is praised!
