Seven years ago today, I went into work at 8:00 a.m. on a seemingly normal day. I recall walking into the work area, and all my co-workers were standing around a flat-screen we have on our wall watching Fox News. A jet had flown into one of the World Trade Center towers. My first assumption was that it had been an accident. It wasn’t. I then wondered allowed if that jet had been empty. It wasn’t. And while they were showing video of the first jet, the live camera feed captured a second jet slamming into the other tower. The rest was just a blur. A third jet flew into the Pentagon, and there was rumor of a fourth plane that ended up crashing into a field in Pennsylvania. Then one of the towers collapsed while we were watching smoke billow from the hollowed-out sides. Then the other tower fell. Then we watched Palestinians dancing in the streets. I was angry, and then I remember President Bush vowing that we would more or less follow these Islamic militants to the ends of the earth. I knew he would. And so, seven years later, I am no less grateful that George W. Bush was our President on September 11, 2001.
