I smelled a rat
We just had to have that bailout package. Had to have it right now, or we risked a recession and a crumbling financial market. Congress finally passed it on Friday, and the stock market promptly tanked. Today, the stock market dropped below 10,000. And now we are told that, well, it will take time for the bailout package to actually work. But that’s not what we were told when Congress was trying to rush this thing through last week. Then it was a mad dash to pass something so Congress could give the impression of “doing something,” when the best thing would have been to do nothing and let our resilient private sector fix itself, which it always does when left alone by lawmakers.
