Not interested

With Mae Beavers not seeking re-election next year, conventional wisdom has it that Susan Lynn, who represents us here in the 57th District, will be the odds-on favorite to replace Senator Beavers in District 17, at least on the GOP side. So Laurie was putting together a speculative piece on who might replace Susan Lynn in the House. She said that my name had come up and was wondering if I’d be interested.
Absolutely not.
I’m flattered that anyone would put my name and “state representative” in the same sentence, but I’m in no way interested in running for public office, not even city council or school board. I’m a private person, and the thought of opening myself up to that kind of public scrutiny is a complete turn-off. Maybe 20 years from now I might change my mind, but as for now, no way, no how.
